About the Artist

Julia Sirianni is a Brisbane based visual artist with a practice is based in plein air painting. Julia spends time exploring unique scenes devoid of people, seeking to discover unfamiliar spaces in a city she has lived her whole life. She is intrigued by subject matter that merges the natural with the man made in unique compositions. Julia’s work combines the immediacy of plein air painting with her studio practice. The spontaneous colour selection and mark making take place on site, which allows her to add detail and layers to the works in the studio.
